DAY 4 - ROME (B/-/-)

Today you may enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Rome. The Eternal City stands as one of the finest and oldest cities in the world. The history of Rome spans over 2,500 years and it has been a centre of power, politics, culture, and development since its inception. The city is steeped in legend and mythology as there are numerous stories of how this majestic place was built. Several Roman emperors and Casers have ruled mighty Rome. This is the city where the colossal Roman Empire grew from. We recommend you visit the world-famous Colosseum (with the skip the line pass) and the Sistine Chapel, famous for its extensive and detailed decorations including the Last Judgement fresco by Michelangelo and the ceiling artwork. Another emblematic site to see is the Trevi Fountain. The detail of the sculptures is magnificent, and the entire facade and fountain are a true work of art signed by Nicola Salvi in 1762.
Overnight in Rome

DAY 5 - ROME – ORVIETO – CASTIGLIONE DEL LAGO – SIENA (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you will set off to discover Tuscany, a region that captures the beauty of Italy in its entirety. Enjoy a stop in Orvieto, the medieval mountain city covered in vines, olive groves, and cypress trees. Before entering the city, you will bask in the beautiful scenery from a fantastic viewpoint, through a system of escalators and ramps as you enter the cape to see the veneer of its Gothic cathedral. After a comprehensive tour, you are welcome to enjoy alone time. From there you will travel to Castiglione Del Lago, a town situated on the banks of Lake Trasimeno. Later, you will head to Siena, known for its famous Piazza del Campo and Duomo. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight in Siena.

DAY 6 - SIENA – MONTERIGGIONE – SAN GIMIGNANGO – FLORENCE (B/-/D)

Prepare to leave Siena and continue your journey to Monteriggioni, a magical medieval walled town. Here you may stroll along the cobbled streets and fall in love with the local shops. DAY 7 - FLORENCE (B/-/-)

Begin your day with a city tour of Florence, one of the most famous cities of art and history in the world. As the cradle of the Renaissance, Florence is enchanting, romantic, and utterly irresistible. It is an incredible city to feast on world-class art and gourmet Tuscan cuisine. Florence is also where Italy’s fashion industry was born and bred. Here you may find many boutiques such as Guccio Gucci or Salvatore Ferragamo among other international labels. Although Florence is small, it looms large on the world’s “must-see” lists for its rich culture, history, faith, and food.
Overnight in Florence

DAY 8 - FLORENCE – PISA – CINQUE TERRE – GENOVA (B/-/-)

Continue your travels by train to Levanto, where the coach will wait to take you to Genova.
Overnight in Genova

Note: The train to Cinque Terre is a regular local railway service, not a tourist service. Sometimes the trains are full (it is not possible to book seats on these trains) and it may be necessary to travel standing rather than seated.

DAY 9 - GENOVA – SANTA MARGARITA – PORTOFINO – MILAN (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you will travel to the nearby city of Santa Margarita Ligure. From there you will continue your journey to Portofino, one of the most exclusive destinations in Europe. During your free time, you may take a stroll by the sea, admire pastel-colored houses, shop at extravagant boutiques, or dine in one of many seafood restaurants. After lunch, your journey will continue to the busy Northern city of Milan. We recommend you visit the cathedral while you enjoy your day at leisure.
Overnight in Milan

Note: Depending on the weather conditions during the winter, sometimes the boat to Portofino is not operating. In this case, access will be by urban microbus (poor quality service with occasional long waiting times).

DAY 10 - MILAN – LAKES REGION – VERONA (B/-/-)

Prepare to see some of the most scenic areas in Europe as you enter the region of the Italian Lakes! First, you will travel to Lake Orta in Orta De San Giulio to discover a preserved medieval city. Overnight in Venice

DAY 12 - VENICE – PADUA – SAN MARINO – GUBBIO – PERUGIA (B/-/-)

Get ready to depart Venice for Padova, the home of many pilgrims and the Saint’s Basilica. Continue to the Adriatic coast to see San Marino, a small independent country sitting on a strongly fortified mountain. After lunch, you will make your way through the beautiful mountain countryside as you cross the Apennines to Gubbio. This is a marvelously preserved town where the Palace of Consuls and the 12th-century cathedral stand out. Later, we will continue our journey to Perugia.
Overnight in Perugia

DAY 13 - PERUGIA – ASSISI – NAPLES (B/-/-)

You will begin your day by discovering the beauty of Perugia, also known as the City of Chocolates. Explore the city with a local guide as you climb the ramps crossing the rocky outcrop. Amazing Italy Canada Special
Honestly, this trip was the Italy I’d always dreamt about as a kid. it’s one of those places full of history, scenery and downright amazing food around every corner! But my favorite part was the time we spent in Tuscany. The rolling hills, vineyards and small medieval towns felt peaceful as well as authentic, a nice contrast to the busier cities. Being inside St. Peter’s Basilica was also quite an experience, even though I’m not a very religious person, the scale and artistry were just breathtaking. Naples was also incredible. Had the real italian pizza! One thing that could be improved is the tempo on a couple of the longer travel days. And covering that much ground means some early starts, but it's also the trade-off for seeing as much of Italy as you can in one trip. It was very well organised, comfortable and a great way to be introduced to the country.

Amazing Italy
The trip to Italy was very well organized. We really liked the fact that it was a small group and hotels were centrally located. I liked the guide in Rome more than in other cities.
