This independent, self-driven grand tour of Switzerland will take you to the country's most beautiful regions. Travel through five alpine passes, 12 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and two biosphere reserves with 22 lakes
With lyrical landscapes, lush fruit gardens, picturesque towns, and surprises on every corner, the route from Zurich to Maienfeld is one of Switzerland’s treasures. It’s surprising given how many highlights there are –the biggest plain waterfall in Europe, a mountain peak with a view of six countries, a principality and a UNESCO World Heritage Property. From the Swiss Tectonic Area Sardona to the Benedictine Convent of St. John in Mustair and the one-of-a-kind Rhaetian Railway Abdula/Bernina line. It’s worth stopping as often as possible to admire Ticinos beauty in all its glory. Visit the Monte Bre in Lugano and stroll along the lake promenade in Ascona. End your journey in Lucerne where the country’s history began among these majestic mountains and lakes, and it lives on today.
