DAY 2 - REYKJAVIK (ARRIVAL)

Welcome to Iceland! Upon arrival at Keflavik International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel by the Flybus Shuttle Bus for check-in. Depending on your time of arrival, spend the day at leisure to explore the city at your own pace. Ingolfur Arnarson, the first settler of Iceland, built his farm on the peninsula where Reykjavík stands today. The town earned its name “Smokey Bay” after columns of steam rose from the hot springs and made a deep impression on the first settlers. Reykjavik offers a wide range of restaurants and coffee houses, making dinner a great way to get better acquainted with Iceland’s capital.

Overnight in Reykjavík

DAY 3 - REYKJAVIK - GOLDEN CIRCLE - REYKJAVIK (B/L/-)

Embark on a captivating journey through Iceland’s legendary Golden Circle, where nature’s raw power and beauty take center stage. Begin your adventure at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes and fascinating geology. Here, you can literally walk between two continents—the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates—as they slowly drift apart, creating dramatic fissures and rift valleys. Continue to the Geysir geothermal area, where the earth comes alive with bubbling mud pools and erupting hot springs. Experience the unique Geo Taste at Geysir—sample warm, freshly baked hot spring rye bread served with creamy Icelandic butter, boiled eggs, and pickled herring, all cooked using the natural heat of the geothermal ground. Next, marvel at the powerful Gullfoss waterfall, one of Iceland’s most iconic natural wonders. Watch as the glacial waters of the Hvítá River thunder into a deep canyon, creating a misty spectacle that glows in the sunlight. Each stop along the Golden Circle offers a glimpse into Iceland’s dynamic forces of nature, its traditions, and its timeless beauty—making this day an unforgettable exploration of the land of fire and ice.

Overnight in Reykjavik

DAY 4 - REYKJAVIK - SOLAR ECLIPSE DAY (B/-/D)

Start your day with leisure time in Reykjavík, soaking up the city’s vibrant atmosphere, colorful streets, and artistic flair. Wander through cozy cafés, explore local boutiques, or stroll along the scenic harbor before the day’s highlight begins. In the afternoon, excitement builds as you set out for a prime Solar Eclipse viewing location, guided by an expert who shares fascinating insights into this rare celestial phenomenon. As the Moon glides between the Earth and the Sun, watch in awe as daylight fades into an otherworldly twilight—an unforgettable moment that connects you to the rhythms of the cosmos. Solar Eclipse glasses will be provided for safe viewing, and for an even closer look, an optional telescope will be available at a charming oceanside restaurant, creating a perfect blend of science, scenery, and serenity. As dusk settles, savor a sumptuous three-course dinner paired with a glass of champagne, the ideal finale to a truly extraordinary day. Raise a toast to this once-in-a-lifetime experience, reflecting on the beauty and wonder of Iceland’s ever-changing skies.
Please note: While every effort is made to ensure optimal viewing conditions, the Solar Eclipse—like the Northern Lights—is dependent on nature’s whims. Should the weather shift, the itinerary may be adjusted to provide the best possible and most memorable experience, whether on land or at sea.

Overnight in Reykjavik

DAY 5 - REYKJAVIK - REYKJANES - BLUE LAGOON - REYKJAVIK (B/L/-)

The day begins with a guided tour of Reykjavík, introducing you to the heart of Iceland’s lively capital. Discover the city’s most iconic landmarks—from the striking Hallgrímskirkja Church and the modern Harpa Concert Hall to the charming Old Harbor—each offering a glimpse into the country’s rich history and creative spirit. Along the way, enjoy a local tasting experience, sampling traditional Icelandic flavors that capture the essence of this vibrant Nordic culture. Your journey continues with a scenic drive through the Reykjanes Peninsula, a region famed for its dramatic geothermal landscapes and rugged coastal beauty. Visit Gunnuhver, Iceland’s largest bubbling mud pool; marvel at the colorful geothermal fields of Krýsuvík; and witness the power of the Atlantic at Brimketill, a natural lava rock pool sculpted by crashing waves. Then, stand atop the Bridge Between Continents, a symbolic spot where you can literally walk between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. Conclude your adventure with a rejuvenating visit to the Blue Lagoon, where you can soak in the soothing, mineral-rich waters surrounded by vast lava fields. As the steam rises into the cool air, unwind and reflect on a day filled with natural wonders, culture, and unforgettable Icelandic landscapes.

Overnight in Reykjavik

DAY 6 - REYKJAVIK - SOUTH ICELAND - VIK (B/L/D)

The adventure begins with a scenic journey along Iceland’s stunning South Coast, where the landscape unfolds into a dramatic blend of waterfalls, glaciers, and black-sand plains. Your first stop is the enchanting Seljalandsfoss waterfall, one of Iceland’s most photographed natural wonders. Here, you can walk behind the cascading curtain of water, experiencing the thunderous beauty of nature from a truly unique perspective. Next, embark on a short ferry ride to the Vestmannaeyjar (Westman Islands), an archipelago rich in wildlife, volcanic history, and rugged charm. Explore the island’s most captivating sights, including the towering bird cliffs that serve as a nesting haven for puffins and other seabirds, and the striking Elephant Rock, a natural sea cliff shaped remarkably like its namesake. Continue your exploration with a visit to the Eldheimar Museum, often called the “Pompeii of the North.” This fascinating museum offers a moving glimpse into the 1973 volcanic eruption that buried parts of the town under lava and ash. Through immersive exhibits, you’ll witness the incredible story of resilience and renewal that defines the island’s spirit. From awe-inspiring natural beauty to powerful tales of survival, this day captures the essence of Iceland’s untamed and enduring character.

Overnight in Vik

DAY 7 - VIK - JOKULSARLON GLACIER LAGOON - VIK (B/L/D)

Today promises an unforgettable encounter with Iceland’s raw natural beauty and dramatic geological wonders. Begin your journey at Svínafellsjökull, a spectacular glacier tongue that extends from the mighty Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. Here, marvel at the towering ice formations, deep crevasses, and striking shades of blue and white that reveal the glacier’s ancient power and ever-changing form. Continue to the mesmerizing Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where massive icebergs drift silently across the icy waters, creating a breathtaking scene of tranquility and contrast. Step aboard an Amphibian Boat Tour for an unforgettable, up-close experience—gliding among the floating ice sculptures as you witness their dazzling hues of blue, turquoise, and crystal-clear ice reflecting the Arctic light. As the day draws to a close, arrive in the charming coastal town of Vík for an extraordinary finale—the Icelandic Lava Show. Watch in awe as real molten lava flows before your eyes in a safe, indoor setting, vividly recreating the forces that shape this volcanic island. The fiery spectacle offers both education and exhilaration, perfectly capturing the dynamic energy that defines Iceland’s remarkable landscape.

Overnight in Vik

Framed by the jagged Reynisdrangar sea stacks, this otherworldly shoreline perfectly captures the raw and untamed spirit of Iceland’s southern coast.
