Upon arrival at Delhi International Airport, you will be met by our company representative and transferred to your hotel.

Overnight in Delhi

DAY 3 - DELHI - AGRA (205 KMS / 3 HRS) (B/-/-)

After breakfast embark on a tour of Old and New Delhi. You will visit Raj Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi’s serene and evocative cremation site, India Gate (the War Memorial) and the President’s House (exterior views), and the Baha’i Lotus Temple (closed on Mondays). This distinctive lotus-shaped marvel in marble is a symbol that represents peace. From there you will continue your journey to the Qutub Minar, a stunning 240-foot minaret and the tallest in the world, surrounded by an elaborate complex built in the Indo-Islamic architectural tradition. Drive to the medieval city of Agra, home to the famous Taj Mahal. Agra is one of India’s top tourist attractions for this reason specifically — although its attractions also feature a wide range of other impressive historical sites. The Taj, however, is in a league of its own and is a must-see for any visitor to the city. Commissioned by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the 15th century as a memorial to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, it is an architectural masterpiece of exquisite craftsmanship and perfect proportions. Enjoy your evening at your own leisure (no services offered). You may visit the city’s hidden alleyways and lively spice markets or hop on a cycle rickshaw and admire colorful Hindu temples and traditional mosques. Choose to visit a local restaurant to enjoy incredible Indian food.

Overnight in Agra

DAY 4 - AGRA (B/-/-)

Today you will visit the Taj Mahal, a highlight of India trip packages (closed on Fridays). Widely considered the pinnacle of Mughal art in India, the Taj Mahal was built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. When declaring it a World Heritage Site, UNESCO described it as “The Jewel of Muslim Art in India”. Few words can be used to describe the magnificence of this monument. Marvel over the lights and colors which transform this stunning monument in the beautiful dawn glow. Return to the hotel later to enjoy a Marble craftsmanship demonstration.

Overnight in Agra

Optional: Half Day Agra City Tour: USD 80, min 2 pax

Begin your tour with a visit to the Itmad-Ud-Daulah monument, known as the "Baby Taj", the first Mughal structure that was entirely built from marble. Later, you will visit the Agra Fort, another UNESCO World Heritage Site developed and added to between the 16th and 17th centuries by successive rulers of the Mughal Dynasty. The fort was primarily built as a military structure, but Shah Jahan upgraded it to a palace before it became his gilded prison for 8 years after his son Aurangzeb seized power. The elegant building inside reflects a fascinating synthesis of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles.

DAY 5 - AGRA - JAIPUR (250 KMS / 5 HRS) (B/-/-)

Today you will drive to Jaipur. Enjoy an en-route visit to Fatehpur Sikri — an eerily abandoned capital from the Mughal Empire (1570-1586). Akbar built this city to celebrate the birth of his son and future heir to the throne, Emperor Jahangir. Although Akbar is believed to have been illiterate, he took great interest in the arts and architecture. Fatehpur Sikri is one of his greatest masterpieces. Sadly, the historic town served as the capital for a little over a decade and was abandoned for its lack of accessible water. Later, enjoy a demonstration of gem-cutting and polishing. Upon arrival in the evening, check-in to the hotel. Jaipur, Rajasthan’s capital, is also known as the Pink City. The origin of this nickname will become immediately apparent as you enter the old city walls and discover the pink-colored buildings that rise at every turn!

Overnight in Jaipur

Optional: Authentic Rajasthani Dinner with a Local Family: USD 75, min 2 pax

After a traditional welcome, learn about the local culture, cuisine, rituals, and festivals from your charming hosts. Listen to the stories of the Pink City , admire the traditional décor of Hindu gods, and savor the delicious flavors of Rajasthani cuisine. Sit with the family to feast on naans, lentils, curry, and dal-bati, and many other dishes typical to Rajasthan served with a dessert or sweet dish.

DAY 6 - JAIPUR (B/-/-)

Begin your day with an exhilarating excursion to Amber Fort. Situated on a hillside on the outskirts of town, the palace was constructed by Maharaja Man Singh, the commander of Akbar’s army, in the 1590s. Maharaja was largely motivated by the highly defensible location. This is a beautiful and very well-preserved structure, built on four levels and surrounded by ruins, which served as the backdrop for the Mira Nair movie “Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love.” Enjoy an afternoon at leisure or perhaps join our optional tour.

Overnight in Jaipur

Optional: Half Day Jaipur City Tour: USD 45, min 2 pax

Begin your tour of the city with a stop at the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). This magnificent structure was built for the royal ladies of the palace to discretely watch the grand processions along the main street. The palace was built between 1729 and 1732 by the ruler Amber Sawai Jai Singh II. This palace takes a large part of the total area of Jaipur and is surrounded by battle doors. The complex was built like there is a city in a city, boasting courtyards, gardens, buildings, temples, fountains, pounds, courts, horse stable, workshops, and playgrounds. Continue your tour to the Jantar Mantar, an impressive astronomical observatory built in the early 1700s by Maharaja Jai Sing II, the astronomer to which this city owes its name. The term "Jantar Mantar" literally means "instruments for measuring the harmony of the heavens". It houses various architectural and astrological instruments that have caught the interest of astronomers, historians, and architects around the world. It is one of the largest observatories ever built. While you are in the city, you may also visit the nearby popular street markets of Jaipur such as the Johari Bazaar with hundreds of jewelry vendors, plus handcrafted clothing, furniture, artwork, and more to choose from.

DAY 7 - JAIPUR - PUSHKAR (140 KMS /3.5 HRS) (B/-/-)

Before breakfast, join our optional tour of Hot Air Ballooning over Jaipur at sunrise.

In the morning you will drive to Pushkar — a sacred city for Hindus. Surrounded by hills on three sides and dunes on the fourth, Pushkar offers a fascinating location and perfect setting for the annual religious and cattle fair (held in November). What is a quiet, secluded desert town for 51 weeks a year, for a few days it turns into an incredible and authentic extravaganza during the annual Pushkar Fair. Drawing people from all around the globe, this festival is arguably the largest camel and cattle-trading fair in the world. Upon arrival in Pushkar, you will check-in at the hotel. Enjoy a walking tour of, Brahma, the holy city of God. Visit the holy Pushkar Lake and the famous 8th century Brahma Temple dedicated to Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe and the only bull temple in the world. Experience a special Pooja ceremony at a Ghat with a Hindu priest on the banks of Pushkar Lake.

Overnight in Pushkar

Optional: Hot Air Ballooning At Sunrise In Jaipur: USD 285, min 2 pax

Available: Every Day

Meeting Point: Hotel Lobby

Lasting for approximately one hour, a hot air balloon ride is one of the most exciting activities to indulge in Jaipur. Fly over the mighty forts and palaces and enjoy a bird’s eye view of Jaipur. DAY 8 - PUSHKAR - UDAIPUR (260 KMS / 5 HRS) (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you will drive to Udaipur. Udaipur is a majestic city of lakes and palaces. Founded by Maharana Udai Singh in 1559 and fondly referred to as Rajasthan’s most romantic city, its rich history is matched by its picturesque setting of the Aravalli Mountains and three manmade lakes. Upon arrival in Udaipur, you will check in to your hotel. After some short rest, explore the city on your own or choose to join our optional tour.

Overnight in Udaipur

Optional: Sunset Cruise on Lake Pichola - Udaipur: USD 55, min 2 pax

Sailing past picturesque Ghats and palaces, you will stop at the island of Jag Mandir, a 17th-century water palace that witnessed two important historical events. It was the refuge for Prince Khurram, later known as Shah Jahan when he was exiled by his father. Later during the uprising of 1857, the island offered safety to several British families who fled from nearby Née much.

DAY 9 - UDAIPUR (B/-/-)

We will start our day at the City Palace, overlooking the blue waters of Lake Pichola. Maharana Udai Singh initiated construction in 1559 A.D., and it was subsequently expanded, with impressive uniformity, by several succeeding Maharanas. The palace boasts numerous breathtaking courtyards and gardens. The main hall has been converted into a museum, housing opulent artifacts and original works of art. Inside the complex we will discover the exquisite crystal gallery, exhibiting 19th-century pieces including crystal chandeliers, tables, sofas, and beds. We will continue walking towards the Jagdish Temple to study its many remarkable friezes. Lavishly built in 1651 by Maharana Jagat Singh, it is easy to understand why Jagdish is the most venerated Hindu temple in Udaipur. From there, we will explore the Old City, wandering through the bustling streets lined with art shops, spice vendors, tailors, and more.

[This flight only operates when the weather is nice, and viewing will be satisfactory]. The Himalayan Range will fascinate every visitor to Nepal. One of the main attractions for travelers is the Mountain Flight. For those who are restricted by time or other constraints, mountain flights offer an incredible alternative to climbing and will give you incredible memories of the highest peaks on earth. The first mountain you will see is Langtang at 7234 meters. The Valley of Langtang, which is not visible from the plane, is the most beautiful in the Himalayan region. From there you will see Gosainthan (8013m). This mountain is situated on the Nepal – Tibetan border. The Tibetan name for this mountain is Shisapangma. Next, get ready to see Dorje Lakpa (6975m): this mountain has a Tibetan name, which means “the mountains of many sacred Thunderbolts”. It is considered a holy site for Buddhists. From there you will discover Gauri–Sanker (7134m). This single mountain has two peaks and two names because the Hindus believe the mountain looks like the Gods Shiva and Gouri. This holy mountain was restricted to climbers until 1977. It was only in 1979 that an American/Nepalese group reached the summit. Next, you will see Lhotse: (8516m): this mountain lies to the south of Everest. The name given by the Sherpas is Lhotse, which means “South Peak”. The first ascent of this mountain took place in 1956 by the Swiss. Finally, get ready to see the magnificent Mount Everest (8848m). This extraordinary mountain was discovered in 1852 and is the highest mountain in the world. It is named after Sir George Everest — an English surveyor. Sagarmatha “Top of the Universe” is the name given by the Nepalese which means, “Mother of the World” and Chomolungma in Tibetan. Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, his Sherpa, were the first to climb Everest on May 25th, 1953, as a coronation gift to Queen Elizabeth II. After the flight, you will return to the hotel.

DAY 13 - CHITWAN (B/L/D)

Get ready for a full day of jungle activities. Our Naturalist will drive you to the core area of Chitwan National Park. Crossing the savannahs and entering the dense Chitwan, you would get fair chances to spot local birds and animals (you can count on Rhinos) in their natural habitat. The forest is quiet and active, and we will take care of comfort throughout your safari.

Overnight in Chitwan

DAY 14 - CHITWAN - KATHMANDU (B/-/-)

In the morning after breakfast, you will be driven to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu spend the rest your day free at leisure.

Overnight in Kathmandu

Optional: Patan City Tour: USD 75, min 2 pax

This tour will take you to Patan City. Lalitpur, the city of beauty is separated from Kathmandu only by the Bagmati River and is the second-largest town in the valley. Lalitpur is fragmented from other cities due to its significant architectural masterpieces dating to ancient times. Patan's central Durbar Square is packed with temples: it is an architectural center point with a far greater concentration of temples per square meter than Kathamandu or Bhaktapur. Krishna Mandir, one of the grandeurs of the squares, was built in 1637 by King Siddhinarsingh Malla. The Golden Temple which is the unique Buddhist Monastery was founded in the 12th century with a large rectangular building with three roofs and a copper gilded facade showcasing images of Buddha and Avalokitesvara. The square has been unrestrainedly adorned by the Bhimsen Temple, Manga Hiti, Vishwanath Temple, Jagannarayan Temple, Golden Temple, and various others.

DAY 15 - KATHMANDU - USA/CANADA (B/-/-)

We had an amazing and memorable two-person trip through India and Nepal. We had an excellent guide and driver in India from Delhi to Udaipur stopping in five cities and visiting incredible sites. Then we flew to Katmandu, with the most knowledgeable city guide ever, followed by traveling to the Chitwan jungle with tours led by a local naturalist who knew every animal and flower. It was a very personal and well planned trip that I would highly recommend.

Once confirmed, are airlines seats always guaranteed?

In most cases, seat assignments are firm. However, airlines may sometimes reassign seats for operational reasons. This often happens at the last moment and is controlled by airline staff, with Indus Travel not being notified. Passengers are encouraged to reconfirm their seat assignments and any other special requests directly with their airline prior to departure.

Should I check-in online?

It always recommended and more convenient to check in online. It will shorten your waiting time at the airport, secure your seat assignments and other reservations.

Can I request a special meal on the flight?

Requests may be made for special meals. These requests will be sent on your behalf to the airline so long as Indus receives these request prior to your documents being issued. The availability of special meals will be based upon the specific airlines and will be at their discretion.
