Its remote location makes the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary ecosystem unique. Hunting and Poaching have been prevalent in the region, but conservation projects have limited such problems and wildlife numbers are now on a rise.
To inspire students to help make a lasting positive impact in the sanctuary by contributing hands and minds to projects in the reserve with the goal of understanding the habitat and learn about conservation practices that can be shared with your friends, family, and classmates when you return home
While exploring the sanctuary`s rich natural beauty, students work side-by-side with local rangers to protect native wildlife and raise conservation awareness in local communities. The reserve is home to a diverse, delicately-balanced ecosystem that depends on the preservation of the local habitat. To reduce humans’ environmental footprint, students will assist in activities including ecological environment, plant biodiversity, and reforestation.
