DAY 1 - USA/CANADA – MEDINA

Today you will make your own way to the International airport to board your flight to Medina. Enjoy meals and services on your international flight.

DAY 2 - MEDINA ARRIVAL (-/-/D)

Welcome to Saudi Arabia! Upon arrival at the Medina International Airport, prepare for a meet and greet followed by a transfer to your hotel.Welcome to the holy city of Medina! After your hotel transfer, you’ll explore this sacred destination, one of Islam's two most revered cities, where millions of pilgrims gather each year. Respect for its residents and beliefs, as well as proper attire, is essential. After lunch, you’ll visit the Prophet's Mosque (Al Masjid an Nabawi), a stunning mosque built by the Prophet, housing his tomb. you’ll also see UHUD Mountain, an important pilgrimage site, and the Quba Mosque, where the first mosque was established in 622. Nearby, you’ll visit the garden and well of Ethiq, where the Prophet and his followers were welcomed by local tribes. Enjoy free time in the city center or visit the Hejaz Railway Museum. In the afternoon, you’ll explore the Al Madinah Museum. At dusk, you’ll return to the Prophet’s Mosque to witness the powerful prayer gathering and its beautiful illuminations. Dinner is included.

DAY 3 - MEDINA – KHAYBAR – AL-ULA (B/-/D)

After breakfast, you will continue your journey to some of the world’s most stunning desert regions. In a volcanic area with breathtaking landscapes, you visit KHAYBAR, a historically significant region that was once a Jewish settlement on the Arabian Peninsula in the 7th century. It is famous for the Battle of Khaibar in 628 AD, during the Prophet Muhammad's lifetime, where Muslim forces defeated the Jewish tribes. You will explore its historic fortress and stroll through its beautiful oasis (entrance fees included). You will then head towards Al-Ula, one of the most spectacular places on Earth. This open-air museum, surrounded by nature, is home to rock formations, canyons, and ravines, rivaling the magnificent treasures carved by its ancient inhabitants. Upon arrival, you’ll visit the Elephant Rock, “Jabal Al Fil,” a striking 52-meter-high rock formation shaped like an elephant.

DAY 4 - AL-ULA – TABUK (B/L/D)

Start your day after breakfast at the hotel. In the Al-Ula region, you will visit the HEGRA enclosure (Madain Saleh), a UNESCO World Heritage site. Known as "the Other Petra," this Nabataean site captivates with its rock-cut tombs set in a mysterious desert landscape. Lunch is included. Afterward, you’ll have free time to explore the commercial streets and relax in the beautiful oasis. In the afternoon, you will depart for TABUK.

DAY 5 - WADI RUM - TABUK (B/-/-)

The day starts with a buffet breakfast in the hotel. Today, you will enter a country that has only recently opened up to tourism. Just 120 km separates us from the Saudi Arabia border (Halat Ammar). Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning desert landscapes. After border procedures, you will continue to TABUK, a region known for its flower exports to Europe. You’ll stop at a farm to explore various plant and flower crops.In TABUK, a city of over half a million people and one of the oldest in the country, you’ll visit the old train station, now a museum that houses the steam engines that once connected Damascus with Medina. You’ll also explore a castle dating back to 3500 BC, where a museum inside tells the story of the castle and city, highlighting famous explorers like Ibn Battuta and pilgrims who passed through on their way to Mecca and Medina. Afterward, you’ll visit the Mud House Museum, which recreates the interior of a traditional adobe home, offering insight into past life in this region. Finally, you’ll stroll through the bustling commercial area of the city center.

DAY 6 - PETRA – WADI RUM (B/L/D)

Today promises to be the most exciting day of the trip! You will begin with a visit to the awe-inspiring archaeological site of PETRA, accessed through a narrow canyon. Here, you’ll explore the temples and tombs carved into the cliffs of this ancient city, founded over 300 years before Christ. After lunch (included), you will head to the stunning desert of WADI RUM. At the Visitor Centre, you’ll board 4x4 vehicles to experience some of the most breathtaking landscapes. A 45-minute camel ride through the desert is also included. You’ll end the day with a visit to the Khazali Canyon, where you’ll see engravings that reveal the origins of the Arabic language.

DAY 7 - WADI RUM – AQABA – EILAT – SAINT CATHERINE (B/-/D)

After breakfast, you will depart for AQABA, Jordan’s second-largest city, located on the Red Sea coast. You’ll take a walk through the city center before heading to the ISRAEL border at EILAT, where you’ll arrive in this modern, tourist-friendly city known for its beautiful beaches. You’ll have some free time to relax, enjoy lunch, and perhaps even take a swim. Then, you continue towards the EGYPT border and into Sinai. Along the way, there will be an opportunity to take photos of Pharaoh’s Island, home to the impressive fortress of Saladin. You will then proceed to SAINT CATHERINE.

Overnight in St. Catherine

FEES: At the border crossing from Jordan to Israel and from Israel to Egypt, every traveler must pay an entry/exit fee for the different countries. Jordan: $15 (exit fees), Israel: $32 (exit fee), Egypt: $45 (entry visa, which is actually $25 visa + $20.Approximate rates and subject to change without prior notice by the authorities of the country.Drones and cameras with a 5,5 mtr zoom are prohibited as well as other types of professional equipment cameras ( Europamundo is not responsiblefor objects that may be seized at borders by the authorities of the countries)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to exceptional circumstances or due to a small number of participants, it may happen that we will cross directly from Jordan to Egypt by boat, taking the AQABA- TABA FERRY with a duration of just over two hours. During the ferry crossing, there will be no assistance from any guide.

DAY 8 - SAINT CATHERINE – WELL OF MOSES - CAIRO (B/L/-)

After breakfast at the hotel, you'll visit the impressive walled monastery of SAINT CATHERINE, located at the base of Mount Sinai. According to tradition, this is where Moses saw the "Burning Bush that burned without being consumed." The monastery, a sacred site for Jews, Christians, and Muslims, belongs to the Orthodox Church and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll then continue through the breathtaking Sinai Desert, with lunch included along the way. A stop will be made at the WELL OF MOSES, a biblical site resembling a small oasis. Finally, you'll exit Sinai through the tunnel beneath the SUEZ CANAL, arriving in CAIRO by late afternoon.

DAY 9 - CAIRO (B/L/-)

Today is a full-day tour where you’ll explore the iconic Pyramids of Cheops, Kefren, and Micerinos (entrance to the pyramids is not included), as well as the impressive rock-carved Sphinx. An exciting day on this Egypt group tour indeed. You’ll also visit the Egyptian Museum, home to ancient artifacts, including the treasure of Tutankhamun’s Lost Tomb. Lunch is included. You’ll then visit the Citadel of Saladin and the stunning Alabaster Mosque. Finally, you’ll take a stroll through the Coptic neighborhood and visit the Hanging Church, built above a Roman fortress.

DAY 10 - CAIRO – WADI NATRUM – ALEXANDRIA (B/L/-)

You will depart Cairo and head to the WADI NATRUM region, known for its ancient Coptic monasteries. These monasteries were founded by Christians fleeing Roman persecution in the 4th century. Fortified over time due to various attacks, they are now important pilgrimage sites that offer a glimpse into Coptic traditions. Coptic popes are chosen from the monks of these monasteries. Your first stop is SAINT MACARIUS, established in 360, where a monk will guide us through the monastery. Next, you will visit the ANBA BISHOY monastery, founded in 340, where we’ll access the fortified tower via a drawbridge. A monk will also guide us through the church, refectory, and fortress, which is the burial site of several Coptic popes. You’ll have time to explore the area and visit the impressive new cathedral. You will then continue our journey to ALEXANDRIA, a port city with over 5 million residents, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the QAITBEY fortress, built in 1480 on a narrow peninsula where the famous Hellenistic lighthouse once stood, considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Afterward, you’ll drive along the corniche, passing through various neighborhoods that range from chaotic and commercial to elegant. Free time to explore.

Overnight in Alexandria

DAY 11 - ALEXANDRIA – RASHID ROSETTA – CAIRO (B/L/-)

You will continue our exploration of ALEXANDRIA with a visit to the impressive CATACOMBS OF KOM ASH SHUQQAFA, the largest Roman cemetery in Egypt, where the blend of Pharaonic and Greco-Roman styles is truly surprising. From there, you’ll take a walk through narrow, lively alleys to the COLUMN OF POMPEY, a towering 30-meter-high column standing on the ruins of an ancient temple. Next, you’ll stop for a photo op outside the modern LIBRARY OF ALEXANDRIA, opened in 2002, which honors the city’s historical role as a major center of knowledge in ancient times. The original Library of Alexandria once housed over half a million papyrus scrolls. After lunch, you’ll continue our journey to ROSETTA. In this small city near the mouth of a Nile tributary, the famous Rosetta Stone was discovered. This stone, just over a meter high, was key in deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphs, as it features the same text in hieroglyphics, demotic, and ancient Greek. You’ll see a replica of the Rosetta Stone at the Rashid fortress, located in a charming village with vibrant streets full of local life and colorful fishing boats along the Nile.

You’ll then take a stroll through Rosetta’s center, admiring the old Ottoman houses with their distinctive brick and wood architecture. A boat ride on the Nile will offer beautiful views and a chance to watch the activity of local fishing boats. You’ll return to CAIRO in the evening, arriving at the end of the day.

Today after breakfast, you will be transferred back to the Cairo International Airport to check-in for your return flight home.

All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum age for children on escorted tours is 8. Minimum age on Safaris is 8. Minimum age for game drives in Kruger National Park (South Africa) is 12. Minimum age for Uganda programs is 15.

Go to our website and click on the register button found on the upper right hand side to create your Indus Travel account and start booking tours! 

If I don't remember my password, how do I log in?

Click the Forgot Password? link in the login form and it will lead you to a form to change your password. Simply enter your registered email address and you will be emailed a link to reset your password. 

How do I view my invoice?

You will not be able to access your invoice immediately upon booking. You will be notified by email when it is available for you, normally within 48 business hours of booking. You can find your invoice and all other details of the tours you booked by logging on to your account and going to the Tour Booking History page.


PAYMENT PROCEDURE

How do I make payment online?

Simply login to your Indus Travel account, go to your tour of choice and click on Book Now. You will then confirm the details and your preferences about the tour and finally pay through our secure online payment platform. 

What forms of payment does Indus Travel accept?

We accept US & CA Dollar check, bank check, money order, direct deposits, wire transfer, Visa, and Master credit cards. Third-party credit cards are not acceptable. Payments made by wire transfer must include an additional $30 wire transfer fee. There is a $50 fee for returned checks.

Where do I mail a cheque?

Cheque payments should include your Reservation number in the memo section and be made payable to Indus Travels Ltd and mailed to:

When is my final payment due?

Your exact final payment date is indicated on your invoice which may be viewed by signing into your account. In general, final payment is due 75 days prior to departure with some exceptions where payment is due earlier.

How much is my final payment?

The amount of your final payment will be noted on your invoice and can be accessed by logging into your account online.

Can I send a bank cheque or money order?

To whom should I write the cheque?

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

When will I receive my e-Documents?

Once final payment has been received and processed, documents will be sent via email approximately 21 days prior to the beginning of your tour services.

Can I get paper documents?

Paper documents may be sent upon passenger request. There is a shipping and handling fee of $30 for each set of paper documents: These paper documents will be delivered between 14-21 business days prior to the beginning of your tour. In some instances, a paper voucher/ticket is required by our vendor. In these instances, the costs for shipping and handling will be shouldered by Indus Travels.

How do I access and print my documents?

Your documents may be accessed by logging into your Indus Travel account and checking your Tour Booking History. 

Do I receive anything else with my e-documents?

Indus e-document package includes all local contact details, daily itinerary, airline e-ticket information, service vouchers, and travel tips which should be everything you require to go on your trip. 

How do I know where to find my airline ticket?

With a few exceptions, international airline tickets are issued electronically. The airline confirmation number and ticket numbers stated in your documents represent your airline "ticket(s)." Some domestic Arline tickets which can only be issued at destination will be given to you upon your arrival in the local destination.

If I need one, who is responsible to obtain my visa?

You are responsible for obtaining the proper travel documents for the destinations on your itinerary, including having a passport that is valid for at least 6 months before the date of departure and a visa if required. Please check the Visa section in the Know Before You Go document for the countries you will be visiting. 

Please note: Passengers who are not U.S. or Canadian citizens must check with the respective consulate or a visa agency to determine what personal identification is required. Passengers who enter, leave and then re-enter the same country on their itinerary should check if they require a double-entry visa.

How do I obtain a visa?

A visa may be obtained by using a visa service or by contacting the embassy or consulate of the nation you are visiting prior to departing from your home country.

Optional tours are offered to travelers interested in additional experiences, sightseeing, meals or activities to supplement the included components of our tours. When can I add optional tours?

Optional tours are available for purchase any time up to 45 days before departure.

Yes. When traveling on an escorted tour, optional tours may be purchased locally from the Tour Manager. However, Indus cannot guarantee the rate and availability of these services when purchased locally. Please note that tours purchased locally are subject to current exchange rates and may cost up to 10% more.

Can I add optional tours for only select individuals on my reservation?

Yes. For assistance on this matter, please contact Indus Travel sales and reservations staff.


TRAVEL INSURANCE & COVERAGE

When can I purchase Travel Insurance?

American Residents can purchase Trawick Insurance with us at the time of booking or anytime prior to departure. After booking, Canadian Residents will receive an email with a referral to TuGo Insurance which can be purchased anytime prior to departure.

When is Travel Insurance active?

Travel Protection coverages will take effect on the later of 1) the date the plan payment has been received by the Policyholder; 2) the date and time you start your Covered Trip; or 3) 12:01 A.M. Standard Time on the Scheduled Departure Date of your Covered Trip.

I need to cancel my trip and have not purchased insurance, what do I do?

Penalties for cancellation will depend on the tour you have purchased and how close to departure you are at the time of cancellation. For more information, visit our terms and conditions.


INTERNATIONAL AND DOMESTIC FLIGHTS

Why is it important that I give my name as it appears on my passport when booking a tour? 

Due to increased travel security and policies around the world, it is now a requirement that your airline ticket matches your first and last name exactly as it reads on your passport. Please note that any changes to the details of your air booking, could be subject to a change fee, penalties or cancellation.

Can I reserve a seat assignment?

For our packages that include flights, we do not usually assign seats. In most cases, you can request specific seats, but this may incur a small fee payable to the airline. For more information, contact our sales and reservations staff.

Once confirmed, are airlines seats always guaranteed?

In most cases, seat assignments are firm. However, airlines may sometimes reassign seats for operational reasons. This often happens at the last moment and is controlled by airline staff, with Indus Travel not being notified. Passengers are encouraged to reconfirm their seat assignments and any other special requests directly with their airline prior to departure.

Should I check-in online?

It always recommended and more convenient to check in online. It will shorten your waiting time at the airport, secure your seat assignments and other reservations.

Can I request a special meal on the flight?

Requests may be made for special meals. These requests will be sent on your behalf to the airline so long as Indus receives these request prior to your documents being issued. The availability of special meals will be based upon the specific airlines and will be at their discretion.

Can I use my frequent flier miles?

Accrued frequent flier miles cannot be used toward the purchase of Indus Travels’ airfare or used for class upgrades. However, airfare purchased through Indus Travels may qualify to earn you additional miles.


AIRPORT PROCEDURES

What is required when I check-in?

Ticketed passengers must show correct identification at check-in. Children must have a parent present at check-in and all tickets must be in each passenger's name.

What is required with International travel?

An international trip may require valid travel documents such as passport, visa, re-entry permit, health certificate, inoculation record, a ticket for the return journey or continuance of your trip, or ANY combination thereof. Passengers are responsible for the proper documentation. Concerns about the required travel documents may be resolved by contacting the appropriate consulate or embassy.
