DAY 3 - WINDHOEK - ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

Upon arrival, you will depart Windhoek in a northerly direction, beginning your journey through Namibia’s rural landscapes. As you travel, you will pass through cattle farming areas and stretches of open bushland, offering a glimpse into the country’s
agricultural regions and natural scenery. The route gradually leads you towards Etosha National Park, a destination well known for its vast concentration of wildlife and its unique natural environment. The landscapes along the way are characterised by wide open spaces, scattered vegetation and changing terrain as you move further north. By late afternoon, you will arrive at your camp, which is situated just outside the boundaries of Etosha National Park. After arrival, you will have time to settle in and relax following the day’s journey. The remainder of the day will be at leisure.

DAY 4 - ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you will dedicate the day to exploring Etosha National Park, one of Namibia’s most significant wildlife reserves. The park is centred around the Etosha Pan, a vast dry salt desert that dominates the landscape and influences the movement and concentration of wildlife in the area. The park is home to four of the Big Five—elephant, lion, leopard and rhino—and holds historical importance as Namibia’s first proclaimed conservation area, established in 1907 by Governor von Lindequist. Despite the park’s considerable size, access for visitors is mainly limited to the southern edge of the pan. Game viewing is largely focused on the numerous waterholes found throughout the park. Some of these waterholes are naturally fed, while others are maintained through boreholes, providing consistent sources of water that attract a wide range of animals. These locations serve as ideal points to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. During your time in the park, you may encounter a variety of species including giraffe, blue wildebeest, plains and mountain zebra, hyena, lion and leopard. A number of antelope species such as kudu, oryx and eland are also commonly seen. In addition, the park is home to endangered species including the black rhino, cheetah and black-faced impala. Etosha is also recognised as an important destination for birdlife, with more than 340 recorded species. An extensive network of roads links over 30 waterholes, allowing you to travel across different sections of the park and experience a wide variety of wildlife sightings throughout the day.
Overnight near Etosha National Park

DAY 5 - ETOSHA - KAVANGO REGION (B/-/-)

Following breakfast, you will continue your journey northwards towards the Kavango region. As you travel along the route, you will pass numerous villages lining the roadside, offering insight into the daily lives of local communities in this part of Namibia. You will arrive in the vicinity of Rundu, a town known for its hand-crafted wooden items and local craftsmanship. As you reach this region, you will notice a clear contrast in the landscape compared to the more arid areas previously experienced. The Kavango region is characterised by its perennial rivers, dense vegetation and more fertile environment. The scenery is dominated by expansive woodlands, riverine forests, floodplains and reed-lined channels, all of which contribute to a greener and more vibrant setting. This area is also notable for its traditional way of life, where many communities continue to live in huts and homesteads that reflect long-established customs and practices. After arrival, you will have time to settle in. The remainder of the day will be at leisure.
Overnight in Kavango Region

DAY 6 - KAVANGO REGION - MAHANGO NATIONAL PARK (B/-/-)

In the morning after breakfast, you will travel along the course of the Okavango River as you make your way into the Zambezi Region. This part of Namibia presents a noticeable contrast to the country’s predominantly dry landscapes, as it is characterised by lush greenery, perennial rivers and dense forested areas. The region’s fertile soil supports a variety of activities such as subsistence farming and cattle rearing, while traditional wood carvings remain a well-known aspect of local culture. The presence of water and vegetation creates an environment that supports abundant wildlife and diverse ecosystems. From your lodge located along the banks of the Okavango River, you will have views of Popa Falls, a series of small rapids set within a natural and scenic environment. The flowing water and surrounding vegetation create a distinctive setting within the region. You will then continue your journey to your lodge situated near Mahango National Park. Upon arrival, you will check in and prepare for your stay over the next two nights in this area surrounded by natural vegetation.
Overnight near Mahango National Park

DAY 7 - MAHANGO NATIONAL PARK (B/-/-)

After an early breakfast, you will travel into Mahango National Park for a day focused on wildlife viewing. Although it is the smallest national park in Namibia, it is recognised for having a high density of wildlife, making it particularly rewarding for both game viewing and bird watching. The park supports a large population of elephants and is also home to several antelope species that are not commonly seen elsewhere in Namibia. These include roan and sable antelope, tsessebe and red lechwe. The park also provides habitat for sitatunga, a species well adapted to wetland environments. Mahango National Park is widely regarded as an excellent destination for bird enthusiasts, with over 400 recorded bird species. The variety of habitats found within the park, including floodplains, woodlands and riverine areas, creates favourable conditions for a wide range of wildlife to thrive.
After your time exploring the park, you will return to your lodge. The remainder of the day will be at leisure.
Overnight near Mahango National Park

DAY 8 - MAHANGO NATIONAL PARK - CHOBE (B/-/-)

Today, have your breakfast, and later, you will depart Mahango National Park and continue your journey across the Zambezi Region towards the Chobe River. During the journey, you will stop at a local village, where you will gain an understanding of traditional culture, customs and survival practices that are part of daily life in this region. The surrounding area is known for its rich wildlife and diverse natural habitats. Large numbers of elephants and herds of buffalo are commonly found here, along with a variety of antelope species that inhabit the riverine forests. This region is also recognised for its birdlife, with over 400 species recorded, making it one of the key birding destinations in southern Africa. The landscape continues to change as you travel, with a mix of woodlands and open areas contributing to the region’s diversity. Upon arrival near the Chobe River, you will check in at your accommodation. The remainder of the day will be at leisure.
Overnight near Chobe National Park

DAY 9 - CHOBE NATIONAL PARK (B/-/-)

Following breakfast, you will cross the border into Botswana and arrive in Kasane, a town located on the edge of Chobe National Park. This region lies at the meeting point of two major rivers, creating a wetland ecosystem that supports a wide variety of wildlife. Chobe National Park is known for having one of the largest concentrations of elephants in Africa. In addition to elephants, the area is home to large herds of buffalo as well as species such as puku, lechwe, bushbuck and kudu. Predators including lion, leopards and wild dogs are also found in the region, along with other species such as sable and roan antelopes. The combination of riverfront areas, woodlands and open plains provides a suitable environment for wildlife to thrive and makes the region particularly significant for animal sightings. The presence of permanent water sources plays an important role in sustaining wildlife throughout the year, drawing animals to the riverbanks and surrounding habitats. This interaction between land and water creates a dynamic natural environment where wildlife activity is often concentrated.
Overnight near Chobe National Park

DAY 10 - CHOBE NATIONAL PARK - VICTORIA FALLS (B/-/-)

In the morning after breakfast, you will depart the Chobe River region and continue your journey by crossing the border into Zimbabwe. You will proceed towards Victoria Falls, one of the most well-known natural attractions in the region and the final destination of your safari. The journey takes you through changing landscapes as you leave behind the riverine environment of Chobe and move towards your next destination. Upon arrival, you will check in at your hotel and have time to settle in after the journey. Victoria Falls is not only known for its natural beauty but also for its surrounding environment, which supports a variety of plant life and contributes to the overall atmosphere of the area. The setting offers a contrast to the wildlife-focused regions visited earlier in your itinerary. The remainder of the day will be at leisure, allowing you to relax or explore the area at your own pace.
Overnight in Victoria Falls

DAY 11 - VICTORIA FALLS (B/-/-)

Today, you will join a guided visit to Victoria Falls. As you explore the area on foot, you will experience the scale and power of the falls, where large volumes of water cascade down and create a continuous mist rising into the air. This natural phenomenon gives the falls its local name, “The Smoke that Thunders.” The network of pathways allows you to move between different viewpoints, each offering a unique perspective of the falls and the surrounding rainforest environment. As you walk through the designated viewing areas, you will observe how the landscape is shaped by the constant flow of water and mist, supporting dense vegetation in the surrounding rainforest. The sound of the falls and the visible spray create a distinctive atmosphere throughout the area. After completing the visit, you will return to your hotel. The remainder of the day will be at leisure.
Overnight in Victoria Falls

DAY 12 - VICTORIA FALLS - USA/CANADA (B/-/-)
