Optional: Dark Heart of Rome (1.30 Hrs.) : USD 35, min 2 pax

** Clients have to reach the meeting point 15 minutes prior to departure **
When the sun sets on Rome, another side of the city comes to life, an older and more mysterious Rome where fact & legend are intertwined to stimulate the imagination as much as the eye. A Rome known only by a few... You are invited to discover this other side of the city for yourself on Rome‟s only night-time walking tour. Your guide will bring the Eternal city's most enthralling historical and supernatural mysteries to life in a highly entertaining and informative tour that is unlike any other. A night-time walking tour, based on history, legends, mysteries and Ghost stories, points out the lesser-known sights in Rome's historic center that any passer-by would easily miss. The tour wanders through the areas surrounding Campo de' Fiori and Piazza Farnese including Via Giulia, Via del Governo Vecchio and Castel Sant'Angelo.

Optional: Half day tour of Crypts & Catacombs (3.5H): USD 140, min 2 pax

Available: Every Day
Discover imperial and early Christian Rome and millennia of history as you descend into the Eternal city's underground burial chambers, its long winding catacombs, and its crypts. Go below and beyond to a time when Christianity was considered a simple cult whose members were executed as pagans and buried as martyrs. The one and only tour that takes you to crypts and catacombs from different historical eras, in various locations and with varying styles. Much of what Rome has to offer is buried underground-and through this tour, our guests can discover the underside of Rome through three select sites--The Cappuccini Crypt (chapel decorated entirely by human bones), Domitilla Catacombs (ancient Christian burial ground) and the Church of San Clemente (built over an ancient fourth century church built over an even older Roman house containing Christian artifacts and a pagan temple-with ruins reaching 57 feet deep).

DAY 5 - ROME – ASSISI – PERUGIA (B/-/-)

After a delicious breakfast, you will depart for a short drive to Assisi where you will have some free time to explore the historical town, surrounded by breathtaking walls that were built during the Middle Ages. Visit the Basilica of St. Francis, where you will see the incredible masterpieces of Giotto and Cimabue. This afternoon, continue your journey to Perugia, situated in a hilltop region surrounded by the valleys and mountains of Umbria. Explore the city with a local guide as you will climb the ramps crossing the rocky outcrop, discovering its squares and stone cobbled streets.

Overnight in Perugia

We leave Perugia and continue to Siena, an UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for the Palio, a historical horse race around the shell-shaped town square, the Piazza del Campo. You will have some free time in Siena to explore the medieval city center before travelling on to Florence.

Overnight in Florence

Visit the Accademia Gallery Museum and discover one of the city’s eternal masterpieces — the David by Michelangelo.

Pizza and Gelato Making Class – Evening (3H)

Learn to make Pizza and Gelato just like the Italians do! Join our late-afternoon class where our chefs will be delighted to introduce you to the history of these glorious Italian creations. Make pizza in a proper pizza oven with our professional pizza chef, called pizzaiolo. You will learn how to make tender, flexible yeast dough that stretches to almost paper-thinness, and the secret for a flavorful yet light tomato sauce. Even if you bake pizza in your own oven, these techniques are universal and using them really makes a difference. With the help of the pizzaiolo, you will prepare your very own pizza, stretch the dough, sauce it up, bake it, slice it - it may well be the best pizza you ever tasted, and you made it yourself! Then our expert chef will fill you in on why gelato remains Italy's favorite dessert while giving you an insight into the "gelato culture" that continues to grow. Get to know the basic raw ingredients, and how to select the best products available according to specific principles during a presentation and tasting of some of the flavors used in gelato making. Learn about the development and application of natural colors, the heating and freezing techniques, and how each has a different effect on the ingredients. It is always great to discover the recipe of the world most-loved dessert! This activity is strongly recommended for families that wish to have children learn about the Italian culture, an easy and fun experience that will last forever in their memory.

**Please inform us of any food intolerance or allergy in advance. This tour includes a short walking part (approx. 10 min). Please let us know in advance any special need or impaired mobility of the clients and we will do our best to accommodate them**

Amazing Italy Canada Special
Honestly, this trip was the Italy I’d always dreamt about as a kid. it’s one of those places full of history, scenery and downright amazing food around every corner! But my favorite part was the time we spent in Tuscany. The rolling hills, vineyards and small medieval towns felt peaceful as well as authentic, a nice contrast to the busier cities. Being inside St. Peter’s Basilica was also quite an experience, even though I’m not a very religious person, the scale and artistry were just breathtaking. Naples was also incredible. Had the real italian pizza! One thing that could be improved is the tempo on a couple of the longer travel days. And covering that much ground means some early starts, but it's also the trade-off for seeing as much of Italy as you can in one trip. It was very well organised, comfortable and a great way to be introduced to the country.

Amazing Italy
The trip to Italy was very well organized. We really liked the fact that it was a small group and hotels were centrally located. I liked the guide in Rome more than in other cities.
