Classical Greece
As a 55-year-old Canadian woman traveling solo for the first time since my kids left the nest, I was naturally a bit apprehensive about booking a group tour, but the "Classical Greece" itinerary with Indus Travel was exactly what I needed. It struck the perfect balance between the bustling energy of Athens and the soulful, quiet history of the Peloponnese and Delphi. Walking through the Lion Gate at Mycenae and standing in the ancient theater of Epidaurus felt like stepping back into my university history books, but without the stress of navigating Greek mountain roads on my own. As a solo traveler, I appreciated that the group size was intimate enough to make fast friends during our seaside lunches in Nafplio, yet the schedule provided enough "me time" to wander the cobblestone streets of Olympia with a book and a frappe. The booking experience with Indus Travel was remarkably straightforward, which was a huge relief for a solo coordinator. Being based in Canada, I loved that I could call their Richmond office and speak to someone who understood exactly what I was looking for in terms of flight connections from Vancouver. Their customer support was top-notch; when I had a last-minute question about the dress code for the monasteries in Meteora, they responded via email within hours. Once I arrived in Athens, the ground support was seamless—I was met at the airport by a friendly driver, which immediately eased my "solo traveler" jitters. Throughout the trip, our guide was not only a fountain of mythological knowledge but also looked out for me, ensuring I felt safe and included at every dinner. For any woman my age looking to reclaim her sense of adventure in a safe, high-quality environment, this tour is a five-star choice.
