DAY 2 - BANGKOK

08:30-14:00: After breakfast, meet your guide and transfer to Samyan Market for a Thai fresh market experience. As you stroll through the market, meet locals on their morning shopping jaunts, learn about the ingredients used in Thai cooking, and sample some tropical fruits. Continue to the century-old Nanglerng Food Market. It was one of the most important markets in inner Bangkok 100 years ago when this area of the city was flourishing. Back then, the market was a major trade centre for various communities living in the city. It now offers a lot of historical insights in terms of the food and the architecture. You will see a lot of old-style wooden shop houses in the neighborhood and be able to please your palate with local sweets and delicacies.

Lunch: A short ride takes you to a small but famous local restaurant near Bangkok City Hall to enjoy an authentic Thai lunch. Finish the meal with a popular Thai dessert.

Afternoon: Your guide will take you back to the hotel in the early afternoon.

18:00-22:00: Discover the sophisticated flavors of Bangkok’s 200-year-old Chinatown district that is filled with rich ethnic tradition and delicious food. During the walking tour, you will explore and taste local cuisines and sample a variety of street foods. Between the tastings, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of this unique neighborhood, meeting its lively characters and hearing its memorable stories. Dim Sum dinner in a local restaurant. Return to the hotel.

DAY 3 - BANGKOK

08:30-13:30: This half-day cooking class will introduce you to the wonderful world of Thai flavors, allowing you to make authentic Thai dishes back home in your own kitchen. The hands-on class will be held at the Baipai Thai Cooking School, in English. Spend the morning learning to prepare four authentic Thai dishes. The school's instructional emphasis is on three things: traditional Thai technique, innovative use of ingredients, and aesthetic presentation. You will be guided by professional teaching staff with years of experience in this specialized area. Enjoy dining on the delicious Thai meals you prepared before returning to your hotel.

Afternoon: At leisure

17:00-20:00: Your guide will take you to Rambuttri Alley near Khao San Road to discover local street food. Enjoy the variety of foods served from stalls and sit-down restaurants. This is a popular spot for locals as well as visitors to the Thai capital.

DAY 4 - BANGKOK

08:00-12:00: One of the best ways to explore Bangkok is by boat. Cruise along the Chao Phraya River - the city's lifeblood - and throughout the canals of Thonburi, revealing scenes at odds with the bustling, modern inner city. You will get a glimpse of the serene and simple lifestyle of riverbank dwellers. This picturesque view is what earned Bangkok the title of Venice of the East. Spend the morning touring Bangkok by the river, visiting the riverside Wat Arun, known as the Temple of Dawn, before continuing on to the Grand Palace, one of the most beautiful examples of an ancient Siamese court. The Grand Palace was the seat not only of the king and his court but contained within its crenulated walls the entire government administration. The architecture is vibrantly Thai, though there are some European designs as well. Brilliantly colored, gilded, and decorated with intricate detail, the overall effect is dazzling. The palace served as the official residence of the kings of Thailand from the 18th to the mid-20th century. The most famous building on the palace grounds is Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), regarded as the most sacred Buddhist temple (wat) in Thailand. Construction of the temple began when King Rama I moved the capital from Thonburi to Bangkok in 1785. Unlike other Thai temples, it does not contain living quarters for monks; rather, it has only the richly decorated holy buildings, statues, and pagodas. The main temple building is the central ubosoth, which houses the Emerald Buddha. Though green in color, the Buddha is actually carved from a single piece of jade, and though only 17 inches tall, is the most revered object in Thailand. Also within the grounds are several palaces used for various occasions: the Funeral Palace, Reception Palace, Throne Hall, Coronation Hall, and the Royal Guest House. Most halls and palaces can be viewed from outside only, but the exteriors are captivating.

Lunch: A Thai Set Lunch at Supatra River House Restaurant. This beautiful traditional Thai house dates back to 1975 and was the former home of Khunying Supatra Singholaka, founder of the Supatra and Chao Phraya Express Boat companies. In 1998, after her death, the residence was converted into this magnificent restaurant.

13.00-17.00: Visit three of the most unusual Buddhist temples in Bangkok, Wat Traimit, Wat Pho, and Wat Benchamabophit. Wat Traimit houses a striking three-meter tall Golden Buddha image and a gleaming, five-ton figure of solid gold. Wat Pho, which features the largest reclining Buddha image in Thailand, and the Chedi of the kings, is Bangkok's oldest and largest temple.

Evening: Transfer to Asiatique where you will enjoy dinner.

Accommodation: Overnight in Bangkok

DAY 6 - BANGKOK

07:30-12:30: The floating market at Damnoen Saduak is around 110 kilometers west of Bangkok. A Floating Market is an ideal place for tourists to see the traditional way of selling and buying fruits and vegetables from small boats. Tourists will also be able to see traditional Thai houses and the way locals use boats in their daily lives. During your visit, there will be lots of activity and bargaining is part of the fun of the sale. Best of Thailand Canada Special
As a 45-year-old traveler who did Indus Travels’ “Best of Thailand” with my sister, this felt like the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and sister time without either of us having to play travel planner. The itinerary moves in a really satisfying arc: starting in Bangkok with temples, markets, and incredible street food, then heading north through Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai for the White Temple, Golden Triangle, and more traditional, slower-paced experiences, before ending with beach time in Phuket where we could finally exhale, swim, and laugh late into the night. What I appreciated most about Indus was how they quietly made a fairly complex 14-day trip feel easy—domestic flights, transfers, guides, and key excursions were handled, hotels were comfortable and well located, and there was enough free time built in that my sister and I could add a cooking class here, a massage there, or just sit with a drink and people-watch. By the end, it felt less like we’d rushed through a checklist and more like we’d actually “lived” in each place for a bit, reconnecting with each other while discovering Thailand’s temples, rivers, food, and islands, with Indus Travels keeping everything running smoothly in the background.

What is required with International travel?

An international trip may require valid travel documents such as passport, visa, re-entry permit, health certificate, inoculation record, a ticket for the return journey or continuance of your trip, or ANY combination thereof. Passengers are responsible for the proper documentation. Concerns about the required travel documents may be resolved by contacting the appropriate consulate or embassy.
