ABOUT THIS TRIP

Uncover the magic of Peru on this extraordinary journey through ancient wonders and dramatic landscapes. From mystical mountaintops to vibrant cities, this tour offers a seamless blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Your adventure begins in Lima, Peru’s lively coastal capital known for its colonial charm and world-class cuisine. Then, prepare for a breathtaking flight over the snow-capped Andes Mountains as you travel to the Sacred Valley—where ancient Inca civilization comes to life. In Urubamba, explore the heart of the Sacred Valley, surrounded by towering peaks and home to some of the most impressive Inca ruins in South America. Visit Ollantaytambo and Pisac, where timeworn stones and bustling markets tell stories of a lost empire. Next, embark on a scenic train ride to Machu Picchu, the legendary Lost City of the Incas. Perched at 8,200 feet above the valley floor, this awe-inspiring archaeological wonder remained hidden for centuries beneath the jungle canopy—and now stands as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Continue to Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire, nestled high in the Andes. Discover a vibrant blend of ancient and colonial architecture, cobbled streets, and rich cultural traditions. From Cusco, enjoy a picturesque journey to Puno, gateway to Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Here, visit the remarkable Uros Islands, handwoven from totora reeds and rich with heritage, sacred sites, and living culture. Finally, return to Lima to conclude your journey with visits to the Plaza Mayor, San Francisco Church, and the majestic Cathedral of Lima—a perfect ending to an unforgettable Peruvian adventure.

Picturesque Solo Peru Tour
It seemed that the right time to do something meaningful was turning 50, and Machu Picchu had always been on that silent “someday” list. Last year I turned 50, and traveling through Peru with my wife made that milestone an experience so much richer than we could have ever imagined. Everything from flying over the Andes to walking through the Sacred Valley each day felt well planned and balanced, allowing for pauses and time to reflect and soak it all in. It was deeply moving to finally see Machu picchu, not just being in a place of such remarkable history, but because of what that feeling represented at this time in my life. Cusco and Lake Titicaca were a great addition of culture and warmth to make the trip feel complete, not just rushed. This was not a box-checking trip; this was about marking a moment in my life in the most memorable way imaginable.

I felt misled about the first night in Lima and the fact that Indus was not providing a hotel because we had not booked our flights from the US through them. We had already been in south America for 3 weeks by then so I had booked our own flights from Santiago Chile. I believed I had booked an 8 night tour.
