ABOUT THIS TRIP

Uncover the magic of two of South America's most captivating countries on this unforgettable small-group tour of Colombia and Peru! Your journey begins in Cartagena, the jewel of Colombia’s Caribbean coast — a city bursting with colonial charm, dramatic mountain backdrops, and sun-drenched beaches. Head into the heart of the Coffee Triangle, where you’ll discover the rich traditions and flavors behind Colombia’s most prized export — its world-renowned coffee. Next, travel to the high-altitude capital of Bogotá, nestled in the Andean foothills. Soak in the sweeping views from Monserrate Hill, explore Plaza de Bolívar, and dive into the vibrant rhythm of this cultural hub. Then it’s on to Peru! Wander through the Sacred Valley, home to centuries-old ruins and colorful Andean villages, before boarding a scenic train to the crown jewel of Incan civilization — Machu Picchu, the awe-inspiring Lost City of the Incas. Continue to Cusco, a charming city with ancient roots and Spanish colonial flair, said to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the Americas. Venture even deeper into the Andes to reach Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake, where the unique Uros Islands await. Finally, wrap up your adventure in Lima, a bustling capital perched on the Pacific coast, blending colonial splendor with cosmopolitan energy — the perfect finale to your South American odyssey!

Best of Colombia and Peru
This was my first time in South America, and honestly, this tour was everything I hoped it would be and more. I was a bit nervous doing it solo but the small group setup made it super easy to meet people. The itinerary was well-balanced between structured tours and free time. Cartagena was absolutely beautiful like stepping into a painting. The Coffee Triangle was a surprising.. got to try some of the freshest coffee I’ve ever had. Bogota cooler, more urban. The views from Monserrate were incredible. Then we flew to Peru, and Machu Picchu... I still don’t have words. It was emotional. The guides were amazing and knew so much history. Lake Titicaca was peaceful and surreal. Would 100% recommend this tour to anyone who loves a mix of nature, history, and culture. Take altitude sickness seriously, though — drink the coca tea!

Best of Colombia and Peru
Two weeks through Colombia and Peru, and it felt like we packed in a lifetime of memories. It was busy, yes, but in the best way, every day brought something new and unexpected. Cartagena was our first stop, hot and humid, but absolutely beautiful. Great seafood & some of the most charming streets I’ve walked through in a long time. The coffee region was a real highlight for me. I’ve always enjoyed a good cup but actually seeing how it’s grown and meeting the people behind it added a whole new appreciation. Brought back a few bags and now I can’t drink anything else. Bogotá was big and bustling. A bit hectic at times, but had a nice energy to it. The view from Monserrate was well worth the climb (well...cable car in our case!). Then Peru — absolutely stunning. Machu Picchu is everything they say and more. Pictures don’t do it justice. The Sacred Valley was peaceful, Cusco was full of character, and Lake Titicaca? Fascinating. I had no idea about the floating islands before this. A few early mornings here and there, but that’s part of the deal when you want to see so much. Would definitely recommend this trip to fellow travelers 50+ who are still up for an adventure but want it all organized for you. Just pack your walking shoes and an open mind, South America will take care of the rest.
