DAY 1 - USA/CANADA - CAIRO

Make your own way to the International Airport to check-in for your flight to Cairo. Enjoy in-flight meals and services.

DAY 2 - CAIRO ARRIVAL

Welcome to Cairo! Cairo, named Al-Qahirah in Arabic, is not only one of Africa’s largest cities (population of 17 million) but the political and cultural center of the Arab World. Cairo’s old quarters retain their ancient charm with many streets still known by descriptions given to them by medieval chroniclers. Modern Cairo’s architecture is distinguished by Ottoman and later European influences, especially in commercial architecture, particularly as the city’s population boomed during the 19th century. Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in.
Overnight in Cairo

DAY 3 - CAIRO (B/-/-)

Today you will visit the Pyramids & Sphinx — reckoned by the Greeks as of the Seven Wonders of the World.  A single pyramid is built from 2,300,000 blocks, each weighing an average of two and one–half tons. In the face of such immensity, one cannot help but feel the wonder and awe that so many writers and artists have sought to convey over the centuries. The Cheops Pyramid is particularly interesting since its interior burial chambers are open for inspection by the public. Not far from the Pyramids stands the Great Sphinx of Giza, dating from the time of Chephren (2620 BC). Hewn from a natural yellowish limestone and standing 65 feet high & 187 feet long, this unforgettable statue combines the head of a Pharaoh with a lion’s body. From there you will return to the hotel, with the rest of the day at leisure. Perhaps book one of the following optional tours.
Overnight in Cairo

DAY 4 - CAIRO – LUXOR (BY FLIGHT) (B/L/D)

This morning, we will be transferred back to Cairo International Airport for a flight to Luxor. Upon arrival in Luxor, we will be escorted to the cruise ship for embarkation. This will be our home for the next four nights. Lunch on board and in the afternoon, we will visit Luxor and Karnak Temples. Luxor Temple was the center of the most important festival, the festival of Opet. Built largely by Amenhotep III and Ramses II, the temple served as a setting for the rituals of the festival, which was held to reconcile the human aspect of the ruler with his divine office. The procession of images of the current royal family began at Karnak and ended at the Luxor temple. Karnak Temple was erected in 1928 BC as a small shrine dedicated to Amun, the god of Thebes. The Temple of Karnak comprises three main temples, smaller enclosed temples, and several outer temples — all constructed over 1300 years. The three main temples of Mut, Monthu, and Amun are enclosed in enormous brick walls, with the temple of Amun at the center. Karnak is now the largest and oldest temple compound on earth.
Dinner and overnight onboard cruise

DAY 5 - LUXOR – EDFU (B/L/D)

After breakfast, cross the newly constructed Luxor Bridge to visit the Valley of the Kings, which is home to many pharaonic tombs of the New Kingdom, including those of King Tutankhamun and Ramses the Great. You will visit 3 Royal tombs based on the availability of the day. Each king's formal name and title are inscribed in his tomb, which is also adorned with his images and statues. Most of the tombs were cut into limestone following a similar pattern: three corridors, an antechamber, and a sunken sarcophagus chamber. Explore several amazing Royal Tombs. Then visit the Valley of the Queens which includes between 75 and 80 tombs. These tombs belong to the Queens of the 18th, 19th, and 20th Dynasties. Among these is the famous tomb of Nefertiti, one of the five wives of Ramses II. Afterward tour the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, the only woman Pharaoh to rule ancient Egypt. The mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut of the 18th dynasty was built just north of the Middle Kingdom temple of Mentuhotep Nebhepetre, amid the bay of cliffs known as Deir El-Bahri. In ancient times the temple was called Djeser-djeseru, meaning the sacred of sacred. The female pharaoh chose to build her temple in a valley sacred to the Theban Goddess of the west, on a direct axis with Karnak Temple of Amun on the East Bank. After lunch on board, you sail to Edfu via Esna. Ancient Nubia was known to the pharaohs as the “Land of Gold,” and its wealth and lands were eventually incorporated into Egypt around 1500 BC. In the afternoon, join your shipmates for afternoon tea.
Dinner and overnight on-board cruise

Optional: Hot Air Ballooning Over the Valley at Sunrise: USD 195, min 2 pax
Bask in the splendor of the ancient historical sights of Luxor from the air. See this spectacular landscape from a unique perspective that only hot air ballooning can provide. Glide majestically over the temples and burial grounds of the Pharaohs and allow history to come to life before your eyes.

Departure Time: Approx. 4 am - *Pick up time may vary depending on the location / pick up point / flight time
DAY 6 - EDFU – KOM OMBO – ASWAN (B/L/D)

Enjoy breakfast on board before visiting the Temple of Edfu. This temple is not only the best-preserved ancient temple in Egypt but also the second largest after Karnak. It was believed that the temple was built on the site of the great battle between Horus and Seth. Hence, the current temple was but the last in a long series of temples built on this location. We will then sail to Kom Ombo and enjoy lunch and afternoon tea onboard the ship. This afternoon, you will disembark and enjoy a short walk to the Temples of Kom Ombo. This complex consists of two temples: The Temple of Sobek and the Temple of Haroeris. In ancient times, sacred crocodiles basked in the sun on the riverbank nearby. The Temple has scanted remains, due first to the changing Nile, then the Copts who once used it as a church, and finally by builders who used the stones for new buildings. As we sail toward Ancient Nubia, you may participate in an Egyptian Galabeya Party.
Overnight on-board cruise

DAY 7 - ASWAN (B/L/D)

After breakfast, you will visit the Aswan High Dam (completed in 1971); the Old Dam (completed in 1902). You will also visit the Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, a structure rescued from the rising waters of Lake Nasser at the time of the High Dam's construction. The High Dam, just north of the border between Egypt and Sudan lies the Aswan High Dam, a huge rockfill dam that captures the world's longest river, the Nile, in the world's largest artificial reservoir, Lake Nasser. The dam, known as “Sadd El-Aali” in Arabic, was completed in 1970 after 10 years of work. Later, you may take a short trip on a motorboat to discover the Philae Temple. The Boat ride will bring the visitor to a magnificent vista of the island, before landing at what would have been the ancient quay on the south side. The temple was dedicated to the goddess Isis and has many legends connected to it. The most well-known legend tells the story of how Isis found the heart of Osiris here after his murder by his brother Seth.

Mystical Egypt Canada Special
Five of us, a group that has been friends since high school, they finally “got serious” and planned a reunion trip we had been talking about off and on for years, and selecting the Mystical Egypt tour wound up being the best decision. We all wanted to enjoy our time together without having the pressure of planning logistics, so it was really nice to have everything arranged for us. It was surreal to stand in front of the pyramids, but mostly I remember laughing with my friends on a boat on the Nile at sunset and trading old stories like no time had passed. The guides were informed without being overwhelming, and kept things moving along. Egypt had long felt like a someday destination, and sharing that moment with people who have known me for decades made it all the more special. We were already speaking about our next reunion, hopefully, with Indus again.

Picturesque Solo Egypt Tour
Just a week ago, I returned from the Picturesque Solo Egypt Tour with Indus Travels, and I’m still processing what a truly transformative journey it was. Traveling solo for the first time felt daunting at first, but from the moment I arrived, everything was so well organized that I immediately felt at ease. The on-ground staff were attentive and supportive, making sure every detail was taken care of, from smooth transfers to insightful guided tours. Exploring Egypt — from the timeless pyramids to sailing along the Nile — was an experience beyond words, and having the logistics handled so flawlessly allowed me to simply soak it all in. What made the trip so memorable was not just the incredible history and landscapes, but the confidence I gained as a solo traveler. I felt safe, cared for, and free to enjoy every moment. Indus Travels made this journey seamless from start to finish, answering my questions patiently and guiding me through the booking process. This trip wasn’t just about seeing Egypt — it was about discovering a new way to travel, and myself along the way. Unforgettable in every sense. Highly recommended for any solo traveler.

Picturesque Solo Egypt Tour
Ialmost didn’t book this trip, thinking I’d be “too old for a cruise tour” or that it would be rushed, crowded, or filled with too much sightseeing and not enough space to breathe. But let me tell you, this tour completely changed my mind. It wasn’t just doable it was deeply enjoyable. Everything was thoughtfully organized, accessible, and paced just right for someone like me in my early 60s who still loves to explore but isn’t looking to be on the go from dawn to dusk without a pause. We traveled as a group yes but it never felt like we were being shuffled from one place to the next. There was enough structure to feel secure and taken care of but also these little pockets of stillness that I didn’t expect... a quiet cup of coffee on the cruise deck while the Nile slowly moved past even a moment of meditation I did on my own by the river. Those little moments made all the difference. The temples were something else. Edfu and Philae in particular struck me, not just because of their size or detail, but their presence. There’s a certain quiet power in these places that you only feel by standing there in person. And then of course the Grand Pyramids. I thought I’d seen them already in books and documentaries, but being there… it gave me chills. There’s something about seeing them up close that stirs something ancient and humbling in you. I came home with more than just photos...I came back with a sense of connection to something much bigger than myself. This tour wasn’t just a vacation. It was an experience that touched me deeply, at just the right pace, and reminded me that it’s never too late to feel wonder again.

I’ve been around tours as a teacher, but this one surprised me. It felt well-organized yet no haste. The small group size made it personal, and our Egyptologist guides shared fascinating tidbits — not just dates, but stories. The boat was cozy and the food decent. We even slipped off the beaten path a few times. Worth calling out, some parts felt a bit ""shop-heavy,"" but that didn’t bother me much. Just be ready to bargain. In all, a solid mix of awe, history, and relaxation.

Mystical Egypt
The Mystical Egypt package with INDUS Travel was amazing. Before my boyfriend and I left for Egypt we were in communication with a representative Ravy who helped to update us on the current visa and COVID protocols. He also kindly updated our flight to reduce a 10 hour layover. From there the trip continued to impress! Our liaison in Cairo, Remon, met us with a warm greeting. We waited for other travelers to arrive, but Rey made it such a comfortable wait. On the way to the hotel Rey gave us a full rundown of how we could optimize our trip and familiarized us with certain customs of Egypt. With him, the hotel check in and check out was seamless. When we got to Luxor our guide Ramy really took the trip to another level! He was professional, knowledgeable, and passionate, which added such a personal touch to the experience. He promised an unforgettable experience, and he delivered. He was able to teach us the Egyptian culture with an interactive twist. Anytime we socialized with locals or needed help with a purchase Ramy was always ready to intervene and provide the best outcome. The ship’s crew, on the Nile River, were intuitive and extremely helpful. They clearly wanted their guess to feel special and welcomed. When we returned to Cario, Rey welcomed us back with a warm and sincere greeting. From there we met Omar who was young and ambitious. He helped us check in, go through our tour of the pyramids, old Cairo and the museum, then check out. Having him there was great because if there was any hiccup he was quick to resolve it without complaint. Our guide, also named Omar, filled us in on information during the Cario portion and further enlightened us on Egypt’s past. By the end of the trip the group we connected with felt like an extended family. The guides provided a lot of assistance and played a big part in us warming up to each other and forming a bond. If Egypt is on your bucket list INDUS Travel will make it worth while! I plan to use them any time the opportunity presents itself.

Indus Travel for our Egypt tour was perfect! Our Cairo director, Rey, was fantastic, as well our tour guide on our 4-night Nile cruise, Remy. Both served every aspect for our tour group in a professional manner; they were terrific, and also very fun! We took advantage of most every excursion and were absolutely thrilled with each of them (especially climbing inside the Great Pyramid). In Cairo, the El Tahir Cairo Hotel was topnotch, and the Concierge, Mokhtar, as delightful as he was professional and helpful.

We believe that we did see the best of Egypt. (One suggestion, visiting Sakarra and Memphis with Kalifa should have been available to everyone.). The Nile River boat (Amjar) was a delight, with an excellent staff, and lovely meals. Michael was our guide on the Nile River portion. He knows the history and did a wonderful job sharing it with all of us. Yes, be sure to do Abu Simbel - probably our favorite temple/tomb!

The travel arrangements were great and we were met at the airports with local transportation. Rames the co-ordinator in Cairo was great. He arranged for a taxi to our hotel when I wasn't feeling well and got us breakfasts to go on our early departure days. The local tours were very informative and not too long in the heat. Ramy was excellent in the Luxor to Aswan portion of our trip. Bravo Indus!

Fantastic tour. Right from the start of our tour when we landed in Cairo, we were well taken care of and our Guides were all great. We did everything listed on the program and felt safe the whole time with body guards escorting us and even Police following our buses everywhere we went. Can't wait for our next Indus Travel trip.

Mystical Egypt was an awesome tour. We were on the go right from the time our guide picked us up at the airport and we saw most of the highlights in our short time there. The Hot Air Balloon over Valley of the Kings and the Pyramids were most certainly the hi-lights of the trip. Our tour guides were fantastic and very informative.
