II was born in Hong Kong, a city where East truly meets West, and moved to Canada with my family when I was 12 years old. Growing up in two such different countries really inspired my interest in different cultures. Over the years I have discovered that the best way to learn about another culture is to appreciate their food, and the best way to do this is to visit a country, meet the local people, try different restaurants and taste authentic local dishes!
I returned to China after school to work as a tour guide, and was lucky enough to see much of the country, from the cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou to some stunning UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Macao, Fujian and even Zhangjiajie in Hunan province, which inspired the floating “Hallelujah Mountains” in the movie ‘Avatar’.
Since moving back to Canada I have travelled further afield to Peru, Turkey, Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic and Barbados, to name but a few places. I am really looking forward to visiting other destinations in South America, the Caribbean and Europe, and I look forward to helping you to visit the destinations of your dreams.
