4. What are the visa requirements to visit Germany?

US citizens do not require a visa to visit Germany if the visit is for 90 days or less. If you wish to stay longer, you may apply for a residence permit from the German Immigration Authorities after you enter. For the citizens of Canada, there is also no need for a visa to enter any Schengen area for 90 day visit in any 180 days. If you leave the area and come back within 180 days, your earlier stay will be counted within 90 permitted days.
